If we see more or less realistic possibility of becoming EU member, we will not miss the moment: Pashinyan
ՔաղաքականIf we see a more or less realistic possibility of becoming a full member of the EU, including keeping under control the possible threats that may arise along the way, we will definitely not miss that moment. Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during the Global Armenian Summit.
Pashinyan believes that Armenia's accession to the EU is not a one-sided or even a two-sided operation.
“This is where we should be very careful when formulating problems so as not to cause new disappointments among our people on the way to solving these problems. It is very important, and I have never hidden it, that, ultimately, Armenia's membership in the EU should also be physically imagined. Here Georgia-EU relations are very important, what will happen. Turkey-EU relations are very important, how they will develop. And in this context, how Armenia-Turkey relations will develop is very important. Because, it is true, Armenia is a member of EAEU without having a common border with the Eurasian Economic Union. However, this brings with it many big and numerous problems, and many regulations either do not work in practice or work with difficulty,” Pashinyan said and added:
“We should not, under any circumstances, oppose our democracy to our region, our regional policy. Our further actions related to the same European Union must be transparent, and the intentions of our EU partners must also be transparent.”
