Middle EastRussia is ready to coordinate a UN Security Council resolution on Syria, but based on five principles, previously agreed with the Arab League, Russian FM Sergey Lavrov said at the UN, Rosbalt reports.
Earlier Russian and the Arab League FMs agreed on a plan on March 10 in Cairo to regulate the situation in Syria based on five provisions.
The plan, in particular, includes putting an end to the violence, establishment of monitoring mechanisms, providing humanitarian aid to all the Syrians without any obstacles, support the mission of the special representative of UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and unacceptable interference in the affairs of the Syrians from the outside.
The Syrian Ambassador to Russia said at a press conference on Monday that the Syrian authorities agree to the given offer by the Russian FM and Ministers of the Arab League.
