Today is the "King of laughter" Karp Khachvankyan's birthday (video)
Наука и культураTheatre after Paronyan ... One has only to say those three words - and as soon as there appears the association of Karp Khachvankyan, who was the master of unchanged for many years. Here he experienced the finest hours of his life and moments of sadness, blessed all with an excitement.
The public was always his most intimate friend, sympathized him absolutely with everything. He forced the audience to take any convention, not trying to justify it in any way.
I remember that scene in the play "Oh, the nerves, the nerves!", where the actor fell asleep. The hall stopped breathing, as if afraid to wake him up. This silence, this pause, he could hold indefinitely.
Prime of the Musical Comedy Theatre, Karp possesed special heightened sense. He possessed the secret of magical settings of audience's attention. Whoever he was playing, he would become the epicenter of every stage of the situation.
Khachvankyan's laughter and sorrow were sealed with truth, of course. In comedy and character roles, he was equally attractive and stood on top of skill, because even over minor details, he worked with feeling, with a sense of responsibility, deeply aware of the nature of the image.
Especially close to the actor was the role of Todoros in the play "Need a liar." Khachvankyan was unmatched in this role. Recently, we have watched this performance on television. This is truly a bunch of satirical colors, humor.
In the gallery of Khachvankyans' roles there are no migratory roles. Here they are: Max Hit in the "Threepenny Opera", Bops in "Auntie Charleya" Aldemoro in "Dancing Master," Rinaldo in "Black Dragon" Scapen in "Tricks of Scapen," Socrates in the play "Love Under the Stars."
K. Khachvankyan's directing works had also great success in the theatre. They were delivered the musical "My Fair Lady" F.Lou in "Pygmalion" Shaw, where he played the role of Higgins, "Man of La Mancha" (where he played Cervantes and Don Quixote), the musical comedy "The Big Wedding" of W. Tigranyan, operetta "Silva" of Emmerich Kalman, "Love under the Stars" of A.Ayvazyan...
K.Khachvankyan's stage persona did not coincide with his domestic appearance. In common parlance, he was a very sad man, phlegmatic. When asked about the creative plans, he always replied: "My dream is to do nothing. I do not like my job, I am a lazy man."
