Russian Armed Forces becomes more efficient — US top military officer
WorldThe Russian military have become more efficient over the last several years, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, US Army General Martin Dempsey said on Thursday.
The Russian Armed Forces had improved professional qualification and become more active since 2008, the latter particularly true about long-range aviation, he told a security forum in Aspen, Colorado. The armed forces had intensified cruise missile test launches and were trying to assert themselves in Europe and the US, Dempsey added particularly noting Russia’s considerable investments in technologies to modernize strategic forces.
However, despite the great deal of work done, the Russian army was still beaten by the US armed forces as Russians held no military training at all in 1995-2005, said Dempsey.
General Dempsey added he was open for a dialogue with his Russian counterpart Valery Gerasimov noting good relations between the two countries’ military commands over the last 20 years.
