A new church is being built in Artsakh’s Gishi village.
Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, on April 29 presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the Saint Gregory the Illuminator Church to be built in Gishi village of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).
The Church will be constructed by the initiative of and the means provided by Russian Armenian businessman and benefactor Karen Baghryan, whose origins are from Gishi village, the Holy See of Saint Etchmiadzin informed.
Archbishop Martirosyan congratulated the villagers for soon having their own church.
The groundbreaking ceremony also brought together the NKR MPs, Government members, and representatives from regional and community authorities.
