Nagorno-Karabakh reports another soldier killed in Azerbaijani gunfire
ARCHIVEThe increased tensions along the Nagorno-Karabakh frontline has led to the death of another Armenian soldier.
In an official statement, Nagorno-Karabakh’s Ministry of Defense says that Manvel A Grigoryan, a soldier of its Defense Army, was killed Thursday night in a fresh armed raid provoked by the Azerbaijan’s armed forces in the direction of Martakert.
The recently reached agreement to end the fire and maintain peace along the frontline was violated over 60 times overnight.
The situation was calmer in the northern (Gulist), north-eastern (Talish-Martakert), eastern (Hadrut) part of the frontline.
The Ministry notes that the violations of the truce have been escalating into armed incidents over the past days, claiming also human lives.
The frontline subdivisions of the Defense Army continue their military vigil, adequately fulfilling their military tasks.
In another ceasefire violation earlier on Thursday, another serviceman of the Defense Army, Hamlet A Hakobyan, was fatally wounded.
Condemning the violent incidents, the Ministry says that he entire responsibility for their consequences fall upon Azerbaijan’s leadership.
