Paruyr Hayrikyan will run for presidential elections
Armenia’s opposition National Self-Determination Union (NSU) Chairman Paruyr Hayrikyan has to run as a candidate in next February’s presidential elections, Hayrikyan himself informed during a press conference on Saturday, and added that he has the greatest rights to run for president.
Speaking about a potential single presidential candidate from the opposition, Hayrikyan stated that he favors a national consensus candidate. Also, he noted that some specialists will come and support him.
Paruyr Hayrikyan is of the view that if he runs in the elections as a separate candidate, he will receive twenty percent of the votes because incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan, who already has united with several political forces, is in the best position at present.
Hayrikyan mentioned, that only big unions could play a serious role in these elections," said Paruyr Hayrikyan.
Hayrikyan thinks that Levon Ter-Petrosyan's conspicuous silence is conspicuous. The latter refused to comment on the next steps, because the ANC situation is not a promising.
