Ուրուգվայի Արևելյան Հանրապետության նախագահ Լուիս Լակալե Պոուն իր կեցավայրում հանդիսավոր կերպով ընդունել է պաշտոնական այցով Ուրուգվայում գտնվող նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանին: Դիմավորման հանդիսավոր արարողությունից հետո կայացել է նախագահների հանդիպումը:

Ուրուգվայի նախագահ Լուիս Լակալե Պոուն ողջունել է Հանրապետության նախագահի այցը Ուրուգվայի Արևելյան Հանրապետություն և շեշտել, որ նման այցելությունները վերստին հաստատում են երկու երկրների ու ժողովուրդների միջև բազմամյա բարեկամությունն ու սերտ հարաբերությունները:
Ուրուգվայի նախագահն իր խոսքում ընդգծել է, որ Ուրուգվայի հայկական համայնքն իր նշանակալի դերն է խաղացել ինչպես Հայաստանի և Ուրուգվայի միջև փոխգործակցության զարգացման, այնպես էլ Ուրուգվայի պետության կայացման գործում:

Հանրապետության նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել ընդունելության համար և նշել, որ տպավորված է հայաստանյան պատվիրակությանը ցուցաբերվող ջերմ վերաբերմունքից:
Վահագն Խաչատուրյանը նաև՝ ի դեմս Լուիս Լակալե Պոուի շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Ուրուգվայի պետությանն ու ժողովրդին Հայոց Ցեղասպանությունն առաջինը ճանաչելու և ցեղասպանությունից փրկված մեր հայրենակիցներին աջակցելու համար:

Զրույցի ընթացքում Ուրուգվայի նախագահն իր խոսքում շեշտել է, որ Ուրուգվայում ուշադրությամբ հետևում է հարավկովկասյան տարածաշրջանում զարգացումներին: Այս կապակցությամբ նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանն իր պաշտոնակցին մանրամասներ է հայտնել տարածաշրջանային ընդհանուր իրողությունների և առկա իրադրության վերաբերյալ, ինչպես նաև անդրադարձել է տարածաշրջանում անվտանգային մարտահրավերների հաղթահարման ուղղությամբ Հայաստանի կողմից արվող քայլերին ու «Խաղաղության խաչմերուկ» ծրագրին:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում երկուստեք բարձր է գնահատվել միջազգային հարթակներում երկու երկրների արդյունավետ համագործակցությունը և ընդգծվել է փոխգործակցության շարունակական զարգացման խթանման կարևորությունը: Այս կապակցությամբ Ուրուգվայի նախագահն ընդգծել է, որ միջազգային հարթակներում Հայաստանին վերաբերող բոլոր հարցերում Ուրուգվայի բոլոր քաղաքական ուժերն ունեն միասնական դիրքորոշում, ինչը նույնպես վկայում է երկու երկրների միջև սերտ բարեկամական կապերի առկայության մասին:
