Պատվո լեգեոնի կոլեգիան դերասան Ժերար Դեպարդիեին հնարավորություն կընձեռի բացատրություններ տալու, նախքան նրա պարգևի վերաբերյալ որոշում կայացնելը։ Դերասանը կարող է զրկվել Պատվո լեգեոնի շքանշանից ոտնձգությունների մեղադրանքների պատճառով, այդ մասին հաղորդել է Le Parisien պարբերականը՝ վկայակոչելով Պատվո լեգեոնի մեծ դիվանատան նամակը։

«Ելնելով դերասանի կողմից նախկինում արված հայտարարությունների բնույթից՝ Պատվո լեգեոնի շքանշանի մեծ կանցլեր, բանակի գեներալ Ֆրանսուա Լեկուանտրը Ժերար Դեպարդիեին ծանուցել է կարգապահական ընթացակարգ սկսելու մասին՝ այդ պարգևի վարքականոնի դրույթներին համապատասխան։ Համաձայն կանոնների՝ Դեպարդիեն կարող է իրեն արդարացնելու նպատակով բացատրություններ տալ հուշագրի տեսքով՝ իր անունից կամ փաստաբանի անունից», - նշված է փաստաթղթում։

Այդ նամակը դիվանատունը հասցեագրել է ի պատասխան դերասանի փաստաբանի պահանջի, որն ուշադրություն է հրավիրել այդ գործում անմեղության կանխավարկածը պահպանելու անհրաժեշտության վրա։

Դիվանատանը միաժամանակ ընդգծել են, որ Դեպարդիեի պարգևի ճակատագրի վերաբերյալ վերջնական որոշումը կկայացնի Ֆրանսիայի նախագահ Էմանուել Մակրոնը։

1996 թվականին Դեպարդիեն արժանացել է Պատվո լեգեոնի շքանշանի, որը հիմնել է Նապոլեոն I կայսրը։ Դերասանը պարգևը ստացել է անձամբ Ֆրանսիայի այն ժամանակվա նախագահ Ժակ Շիրակից։

Դերասանին շքանշանից զրկելու պահանջներ են հնչել 2023 թվականին, երբ ԶԼՄ-ներում սկսեցին շրջանառվել լուրեր, թե Դեպարդիեն, ենթադրաբար, նկարահանման հրապարակում ոտնձգություններ է թույլ տվել: Ավելի ուշ Մակրոնը հայտարարել է, որ անհանդուրժելի է համարում Ֆրանսիան փառաբանած ականավոր դերասանին հանրապետության բարձրագույն պարգևից զրկելը սոսկ  ԶԼՄ-ների հրապարակումների հիման վրա։ Մակրոնը հանդես է եկել անմեղության կանխավարկածի պահպանման օգտին:
