Հանրապետության նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանն Իրաքի Հանրապետություն կատարած պաշտոնական այցի շրջանակներում Իրաքյան Քուրդիստանի մայրաքաղաք Էրբիլում հանդիպում է ունեցել Իրաքյան Քուրդիստանի պատվավոր նախագահ Մասուդ Բարզանիի հետ։

Ողջունելով Հանրապետության նախագահի այցն Իրաքի Հանրապետություն և Իրաքյան Քուրդիստան Պատվավոր նախագահն այցը պատմական է գնահատել և շեշտել, որ այն դրական խթան կհանդիսանա երկու երկրների և ժողովուրդների բարեկամության ամրապնդման և հարաբերությունների զարգացման գործում։

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ջերմ ընդունելության համար նախագահ Վահագն Խաչատուրյանն ընդգծել է ժողովուրդների միջև պատմամշակութային բազմաշերտ առնչակցությունների կարևորությունը, ինչն ամուր հիմք է շարունակական համագործակցության խորացման համար։

Հանդիպման ընթացքում անդրադարձ է կատարվել Հայաստանի և Իրաքյան Քուրդիստանի միջև հարաբերությունների զարգացման ուղղությամբ քայլերի խթանման հնարավորություններին։

Մտքեր են փոխանակվել առկա փոխշահավետ համագործակցային ներուժի կյանքի կոչման հեռանկարների և կոնկրետ գործողությունների վերաբերյալ։

Զրուցակիցներն անդրադարձել են տարածաշրջանային և գլոբալ մի շարք հիմնախնդիրների և վերջիններիս կարգավորման ուղիների վերաբերյալ առկա հարցերին։ Այս համատեքստում երկուստեք ընդգծվել է հակամարտություններն ու խնդիրները բացառապես խաղաղ, բանակցային ճանապարհով և միջազգային իրավունքի և հիմնարար սկզբունքների պահպանությամբ լուծելու հրամայականը։
