Генеральный секретарь НАТО Йенс Столтенберг прибыл с необъявленным визитом в Киев и встретился с президентом Украины Владимиром Зеленским.

«Сегодня мы обсудили инициативу Йенса по созданию специального Фонда финансовой поддержки украинской обороны объемом 100 млрд евро сроком на пять лет», — сообщил Зеленский во время совместного брифинга с главной Североатлантического альянса.

По словам Зеленского, Киев и НАТО достигли самого высокого уровня взаимодействия за время независимости Украины, но не самого высокого из возможных.

Зеленский подчеркнул, что Украина будет в НАТО, «поскольку уже невозможно представить безопасность Европы и евроатлантического сообщества без действенного участия Украины», цитирует его «Укринформ».

«Наше государство, наших людей и наш потенциал Россия стремится сделать своим плацдармом для дальнейшей дестабилизации всего европейского и евроатлантического пространства. И поэтому именно в защите нашего государства есть ответ на вопрос о надежной и долговременной общей безопасности», — подчеркнул Зеленский.
