Anti-hackers operation in Italy
ԱշխարհItaly’s law enforcement agencies are holding a large-scale operation against hackers’ group “Anonymous”
this Friday.
The operation, dubbed “Tango Down”, is supervised by Rome’s Prosecutor General’s Office and is held all over Italy.
Several dozen home-checks have already been held, and 4 people have been put under home arrest.
Investigators believe that these 4 people were organizers of recent hacker attacks on the website of the
Italian government, the parliament and Vatican.
The “Anonymous” hackers’ group became widely known in the end of 2010, when its participants attacked websites of several organizations and companies that counteracted the activity of the “WikiLeaks” website. In particular, they attacked the sites of “PlayPal”, “Visa” and “Mastercard”.
“The Anonymous” regularly hack websites of governments and governmental bodies of several countries.
