Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has said he is confident that Moscow and Paris will be able to develop successful cooperation in resolving major international issues.
Putin congratulated French President Francois Hollande on Bastille Day.
“I’d like to thank you for the invitation to Normandy for the D-Day celebrations. Russia praised your speech at the celebrations when you noted the role of the Soviet Army and the peoples of the USSR in the struggle against Nazism,” Putin said.
“I’m confident that based on good traditions of the past we’ll be able to develop successful partnership in resolving major international issues. This meets the interest of the peoples of our countries and facilitates the strengthening of stability and security in Europe and all round the world,” Putin said.
