UEFA asks Russian Football Union to provide documents on FC Rostov licensing

UEFA has asked the Football Union of Russia (FUR) to provide documents on the procedure of licensing of FC Rostov, FUR said at its official website.

Wednesday, FUR President Nikolai Tolstykh presented the FC Rostov’s wage plan to the reporters.
The document suggested that the Rostov Region Foundation for Promotion of Sports issued grants starting with $ 25,000 to the club’s players while in reality they received 15,000 rubles ($ 435) each under labor contracts with the club.
Rostov Vice President Alexander Shikunov went out to the reporters to refute the information, saying the club had dropped cooperation with the fund more than half a year alone.
Yuri Belous, the former Director General of FC Rostov, confirmed that the footballers had been receiving the monthly salary of 15,000 rubles.
“I don’t know what system of remunerations the football club has now,” said Belous who left FC Rostov in 2012. “I think Mr. Shikunov will have more information but at the time when I was Director General of the Club the salary was 15,000 rubles, although some of them received 30,000 rubles.
“The footballers received their monies through the foundation,” he said.
