Russia supplied over 500 aircraft to Asia-Pacific region over past 15 years
RussiaThe Asia-Pacific region is a major market for supplies of Russia military aircraft, the president of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), Mikhail Pogosyan, said in an exclusive interview with TASS on Monday.
“Speaking on the market of the Asia-Pacific region, over the past 15 years more than 500 aircraft have been delivered and manufactured upon license in the Asia-Pacific countries,” Mikhail Pogosyan said.
“We have managed to achieve these results due to constant improvement of products we supply to the market,” he said.
Russia is ready to offer Su-35 (NATO reporting name: Flanker-E), a 4++ generation aircraft employing technologies of the fifth generation, to China, the company’s CEO said.
“We believe that it has good prospects both on the Chinese market and also on the market of other countries of the Asia-Pacific region,” Pogosyan said.
The first experimental Su-35, designed by Russia’s Sukhoi aircraft maker and built by Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Production Association (KnAAPO), appeared at Russia’s MAKS-2007 air show.
