2016 Hockey World Championship logo unveiled in Russia

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation has unveiled the official logo of the 2016 Hockey World Championship that will be held in Moscow and St.Petersburg, the federation's press service said on Monday.
"The logo features the famous landmarks of Moscow and St.Petersburg, the Spasskaya (Saviour's) Tower of the Moscow Kremlin and the Troitsky (Trinity) Bridge with the Peter and Paul fortress," the press service said.
The logo has been designed in the traditional style of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) using the colours of the Russian national flag (blue, white and red), the press service added.
"The crossed hockey sticks and the flying puck symbolise the upcoming exciting games and unforgettable emotions," the press service said.
Russia will host the 2016 IIHF World Championsip on May 6-22. Russia previously hosted world hockey championships in 2000 and 2007.
