Fireworks are to be temporally prohibited in inflammable areas

During the regular working meeting in Yerevan City Hall which was conducted by Mayor Taron Margaryan it was reported that irrigation and grass mowing activities were going on in two shifts in the administrative districts of the capital. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed to take measures in teamwork with the administrative districts, departments of trade and nature protection, and the police to prohibit temporally the fireworks in the inflammable areas.
“Keep a watchful eye on the areas covered with dry grass. Take under tight control the servicing companies and restaurant complexes to prohibit fireworks organization. Particularly taking into account that some fire cases were caused by fireworks, warn the persons in charge of the mentioned entities not to organize fireworks at least in this period”, stressed Taron Margaryan.
As a result of everyday control over prevention of illegal construction and land occupation 9 cases of violation were revealed last week, in one place the construction was dismantled.
Last week 27 records were drawn up jointly with the Road Police concerning public transport vehicles operation. To avoid traffic jams and ease the traffic the issue of organization of one-way traffic in some streets of Kentron district have been studied. At the present one-way traffic has bee organized in Koghbatsi and Teryan streets.
With the aim of revelation of illegal street vending, as a result of the inspections carried out in administrative districts during the week including weekends 7 administrative records were drawn up. The Mayor instructed to carry on the control in cooperation with the police.
Concerning revelation and prevention of waste dumping in inappropriate places it was reported that 84 cases of violation had been drawn up the previous week. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the heads of the administrative districts to be more consistent and strict in this issue.
“As I have said many times, it’s not an end in itself for us. Ultimately, we must form a culture in Yerevan when people won’t dump garbage in improper places realizing that they will be punished in the order determined by law. And this refers not only to domestic garbage but to construction waste”,stressed Taron Margaryan.
Concerning the defects existing in the system of external lighting in the streets, parks, squares, yard areas of the capital it reported that the damaged lamps are regularly replaced with new ones. It was also reported that by the end of the year external lighting would have been provided in all the areas of Kharberd quarter.
Organization of summer rest of the children of the fallen or disabled servicemen, orphans, children from needy families in health and sport resorts is going on. It was reported that by the third stage of the program 428 children left for camps. Mayor Taron Margaryan instructed the department of external design and advertisement and the heads of 12 administrative districts to inventory improper advertisement boards and posters and to take corresponding actions to remove them.
