Adversary fired more than 3000 shots towards Armenian frontier troops during last week

The rival violated the ceasefire regime in the line of contact of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani opposing armies during the period of January 10 and 16. More than 3000 shots were fired towards Armenian frontier troops from weapons of different caliber, including AGS­-17, RPG-­7 grenade launchers and 60mm mortars during the abovementioned period.

The adversary made an attempt of a subversive act in eastern direction of the contact line of Karabakh-­Azerbaijani opposing armies at 21:30, January 14. The frontier troops of the Defense Army identified in time the advance of the Azerbaijani special unit and pushed them back causing losses. At least two enemy soldiers were killed as the result and the other members of the group escaped.

During the recorded skirmish Defense Army had no losses.

As Press Service of NKR Defense Ministry informed “Armenpress”, the frontier troops of the Defense Army of Artsakh control the operative situation and continued to confidently carry out their military duties.
