Azerbaijan keeps Nagorno-Karabakh frontline under heavy fire; fatality reported
АРХИВThe intensive Azerbaijani ceasefire violations along the Nagorno-Karabakh frontline saw the adversary use all the heavy gun machinery in its arsenal to shell Armenian defense positions and border villages.
In an official statement released Wednesday morning, Nagorno-Karabakh’s Ministry of Defense says that the adversary released fire from artillery weapons, cannons, mine launchers and the BM-21 multiple rocket launcher (“Grad”).
More intensive shellings were recorded in the north-eastern direction of the Line of Contact. The Azerbaijani troops kept the town Martakert, the village Nerkin Horatagh and other settlements under heavy fire.
A serviceman of the Defense Army, identified as Hayk S Minasyan, 20, was fatally wounded.
The Ministry shares the heavy grief of the loss, extending its solidarity to the family and fellow servicemen of the deceased.
To neutralize the proactive raids, the frontline military subdivisions of the Defense Army have taken punitive action, inflicting human and material losses on the adversary. The situation is reported to be relatively calm at the moment.
