ՄԱԿ կրթության, գիտության եւ մշակույթի հարցերով կազմակերպությունը (ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ) մտահոգված է այն փաստով, որ աշխարհում լրագրողների դեմ իրագործվող հանցագործությունների գրեթե 90 տոկոսը անպատիժ է մնում: Այս մասին նշված է երկուշաբթի երեկոյան տարածված ՅՈՒՆԵՍԿՕ-ի լրագրողների սպանությունների հարցերով կազմակերպության հայտարարության մեջ, փոխանցում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

«Մոլորակում սպանված լրագրողների թիվը 2019 թվականին գրեթե կրկնակի նվազել է եւ վերջին 10 տարում ամենացածր մակարդակում է: Այն կազմում է մահվան 56 դեպք՝ 2018 թվականի 99-ի համեմատությամբ»,- նշված է հայտարարության մեջ: ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ-ի կազմակերպությունը 2010-2019 թվականներն ընկած ժամանակահատվածում, ընդհանուր առմամբ, գրանցել է լրագրողների 894 սպանություն, ինչը կազմում է տարեկան միջինը գրեթե 90 սպանություն:

Ամենաբարձր ցուցանիշը գրանցվել է Լատինական Ամերիկայի եւ Կարիբյան ավազանի երկրներում, որտեղ զոհվել է 22 լրագրող։ Երկրորդ եւ երրորդ տեղերում են Ասիա-խաղաղօվկիանոսյան տարածաշրջանի երկրները եւ արաբական պետությունները՝ համապատասխանաբար 15 եւ 10 սպանությամբ։

Փորձագետները միաժամանակ նշում են, որ լրագրողների 61 տոկոսը, այսինքն՝ մոտ երկու երրորդը 2019 թվականին զոհվել է այն երկրներում, որոնք զինված հակամարտությունների մեջ ներգրավված չեն, այն դեպքում, երբ 2014-ին այդ ցուցանիշը կազմել է մեկ երրորդ։ Հետեւաբար, ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ-ն եկել է այն եզրակացության, որ «լրագրողները ծայրահեղ վտանգների ենթարկվում են ոչ միայն զինված հակամարտությունները լուսաբանելիս, այլեւ զոհ են դառնում տեղի քաղաքական գործիչների արարքները, կոռուպցիան եւ իրավախախտումները հետաքննելիս, ընդ որում՝ հաճախ իրենց հայրենի քաղաքներում»։ «Ընդհանուր առմամբ, լրագրողների դեմ սպառնալիքներն ուղղված են այն բանին, որպեսզի ստիպեն լռել  քննադատաբար արտահայտվող հեղինակներին եւ սահմանափակեն բնակչությանը տեղեկատվության հասանելիությունը»,- փաստում է ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ-ն։

«Կազմակերպությունը շարունակում է խորապես անհանգստանալ այն թշնամանքով ու բռնությամբ, որոնց զոհերն են դառնում ավելի ու ավելի մեծ թվով լրագրողներ ողջ աշխարհում։ Նման իրավիճակը վնաս է հասցնում հասարակությունում դեմոկրատական բանակռիվներին»,- այս առնչությամբ ընդգծել է ՅՈւՆԵՍԿՕ-ի գլխավոր տնօրեն Օդրե Ազուլեն։
