Մայիսի 12-ին, կեսգիշերին մոտ, ոստիկանության Շենգավիթի բաժնում կրակոցների վերաբերյալ հաղորդում ստացվեց։ Շիրակի փողոցի բնակիչներից մեկն ահազանգել էր 1-02 և հայտնել, որ տարածքում ծեծկռտուք է, հնչում են կրակոցներ։

 Ոստիկանության Երևան քաղաքի վարչությունից, Շենգավիթի բաժնից ու Չարբախի բաժանմունքից դեպքի վայր մեկնեցին օպերատիվ խմբեր: Համատեղ միջոցառումներով քրեական հետախույզներն ու համայնքային ոստիկանները գտան դեպքի վայրը։ Շիրակի փողոցի 1-ին նրբանցքի 5-րդ շենքի բակում հայտնաբերվեցին արնանման հետքեր, կոտրված ակնոց ու 9 մմ տրամաչափի կրակված պարկուճ։
 Տեղում իրականացված օպերատիվ միջոցառումների շնորհիվ ոստիկաններն արագ պարզեցին միջադեպի մասնակիցների շրջանակը։ Շուտով հայտնի դարձավ ոչ միայն նրանց, այլև կրակողի ինքնությունը։ Շիրակի փողոցի 30-ամյա բնակիչը դեպքից երկու ժամ անց հայտնաբերվեց, բերման ենթարկվեց ոստիկանության Շենգավիթի բաժին, ապա ներկայացվեց նախաքննական մարմնին ու ձերբակալվեց։

Զենքի գործադրմամբ կատարված խուլիգանության և ապօրինի կերպով զենք ձեռք բերելու, իրացնելու, պահելու, փոխադրելու կամ կրելու հատկանիշներով հարուցված քրեական գործի նախաքննությունը շարունակվում է։
