Օրեր առաջ Հանրապետությունը ցնցվեց Գյումրիում տեղի ունեցած դեպքից, երբ թափառական շները հարձակվել էին մանկահասակ աղջկա վրա, գզել նրան և մարմնական մնասվածքներ պատճառել: Երեխան ծայրահեղ ծանր ախտորոշմամբ տեղափոխվել էր Երևանի «Սբ. Աստվածամայր» բժշկական կենտրոն, որտեղ բժիշկների շնորհիվ հնարավոր է եղել փրկել երեխայի կյանքը, սակայն վերջինս տևական ժամանակ մնալու է բժիշկների, իսկ հետո արդեն՝ հոգեբանների հսկողության տակ:

Արդեն մի քանի օր է` Shamshyan.com-ը բազմաթիվ հեռախոսազանգեր է ստանում Կենտրոն վարչական շրջանի Չարենցի փողոցի բնակիչներից, որ թափառող շները իսկական պատուհաս են դարձել քաղաքացիների համար: «Այնպես չէ, որ մենք կենդանասեր չենք,- ասում էին Չարենցի փողոցի բնակիչները,- և այս հարցը բարձրաձայնում ենք ոչ թե նրա համար, որ գան ու շներին սպանեն, այլ պարզապես Երևանի քաղաքապետ Հայկ Մարությանը հետևություններ անի, և այս խնդիրը լուծեն: Գյումրիի հայտնի դեպքը մեր աչքի առջև ունենալով, ամեն օր երեխաներին դպրոց ճանապարհելիս և տուն վերադառնելիս ահը սրտներումս է, որ թափառող շների «փայ» չդառնան: Տևական ժամանակ է` շներն անգամ հանգիստ մտնում են տներ, իրենց հաչոցներով ու կռիվներով խաթարում բնակիչների անդորրը, իսկ Չարենցի փողոցում վարորդների համար նաև վթարային իրավիճակներ են ստեղծում՝ շատ դեպքերում հայտնվելով ավտոմեքենաների առջև:

Այս խնդիրի մասին բազմիցս ահազանգել ենք Երևանի քաղաքապետարան, սակայն ոչ մի օգուտ:

Մեր քաղաքային իշխանությունները մի հետաքրքիր հատկություն ունեն. մինչև դանակը ոսկորին չի հասնում, տեղից չեն շարժվում: Այսինքն, պարտադիր պետք է թափառող շների պատճառով ողբերգական դեպք լինի՞, աղմուկ բարձրանա՞, որ վերջապես իրական քայլեր կատարվեն այս ուղղությամբ: Մանավանդ, որ բյուջեով մեծ գումարներ են ամեն տարի հատկացվում՝ թափառող շներին որսալու և նրանց ստերիլիզացնելու համար: Իմիջայլոց, թափառող շները մարդկանց վրա հարձակվելիս կուսակցական պատկանելիությունը, քաղաքական հայացքները հաշվի չեն առնում: Ու երբ այս նույն շներից մի օր տուժեն նաև քաղաքապետարանի պաշտոնյաները, նոր իրենց մաշկի վրա կզգան այն ամենը, ինչ ամեն օր զգում են ոչ միայն Չարենցի, այլ նաև՝ Երևանի բազմաթիվ այլ փողոցների բնակիչներ»:
