Աշխարհում կորոնավիրուսային վարակի հաստատված դեպքերի թիվը գերազանցել է 18 միլիոնը։ Վարակվածների ընդհանուր թիվը հասել է 18 017 556-ի։ Ամբողջ ժամանակահատվածում մահացել է 687 930 մարդ։ Վերականգնվել է 10 649 108 մարդ: Վարակի դեպքերի մեծ մասը ԱՄՆ-ում  է՝ 4,4 միլիոն մարդ: Մահերի թվով նույնպես առաջատարն է ԱՄՆ-ն՝ 154 հազար մահ: Նրան հաջորդում են Բրազիլիան, Մեքսիկան, Մեծ Բրիտանիան, Հնդկաստանը, Իտալիան, Ֆրանսիան և Իսպանիան: Ինչպես հայտնի է, անցյալ տարվա դեկտեմբերի վերջին անհայտ ծագման թոքաբորբի բռնկման առաջին դեպքը գրանցվեց Չինաստանի Վուհան քաղաքում: Ավելի ուշ` այն պաշտոնապես անվանվեց նոր կորոնավիրուս՝ COVID-19: Իսկ 2020 թվականի մարտի 11-ին առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպությունը հայտարարեց համաշխարհային համաճարակի բռնկման մասին:
