Լիբանանում սեպտեմբերի 5-ին ավտովթարից մահացել է Հայաստանի Ազատագրության Հայ Գաղտնի Բանակի (ASALA) ազատամարտիկներից Աբրահամ Թովմասյանը:

Այս առնչությամբ ASALA-ի տարածած հաղորդագրության մեջ ասվում է.

«Էրբիլում ընկեր Հակոբ Տաղլյանի մահից ընդամենը երկու շաբաթ հետո այս նոր կորուստը ծանր հարված է մեր շարքերին եւ վերանորոգում է մեր վիշտը:

Ընկեր Աբրահամը կազմակերպության շարքերին անդամակցել է 1980-ականների սկզբին: Մեր կազմակերպության ռազմակայաններից մեկում համապատասխան մարզումներից հետո, նա շատ աշխույժ գործունեություն է ծավալել 1980-ական թվականներին՝ մասնավորապես Եվրոպայի տարածքում:

1983-ի հունվարի 22-ին նա խմբային հարձակում է գործել Փարիզում թուրքական Օդանավային ընկերության գլխավոր գրասենյակի վրա՝ իրականացնելով «Շապին Գարահիսար» գործողությունը, որի համար դատապարտվել է 2,5 տարվա բանտարկության:

1985-ի առաջին օրերին վերադառնալով Լիբանան, նա իր պայքարը շարունակել է Հայկական Ժողովրդային Շարժման ներսում՝ օգտակար դառնալով ՀԺՇ-ի Լիբանանի մասնաճյուղի աշխատանքներին:

Ընկեր Աբրահամ Թովմասյանը համեստ էր, ծառայասեր, միշտ պատրաստ՝ անմնացորդ նվիրումով կատարելու իրեն հանձնարարված ամենադժվար պարտականությունները: Հայկական զինյալ ազատագրական պայքարին նրա ներդրումն իր անունը պայծառ պիտի պահի մեր պայքարի պատմության մեջ:

Սեպտեմբերի 14-ին, ժամը 14:00-ին, Երեւանի Եռաբլուր պանթեոնում հոգեհանգստյան արարողություն կկատարվի ընկեր Աբրահամի հիշատակին:

Աբրահամ Թովմասյանի հիշատակը վառ կմնա իր պայքարի մարտական ու գաղափարական ընկերների շարքերում:
