Սեպտեմբերի 30-ին Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում, նախագահությամբ Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսի, տեղի ունեցավ Գերագույն հոգևոր խորհրդի ժողով։

Մինչ օրակարգի հարցերի քննությունը Վեհափառ Հայրապետի գլխավորությամբ աղոթք բարձրացվեց հայրենիքի սահմանների պաշտպանության համար զոհված հայորդիների հոգիների հանգստության համար։

Ժողովին անդրադարձ կատարվեց Արցախի Հանրապետության շուրջ ստեղծված իրավիճակում Արցախի ժողովրդի և հայոց բանակի աջակցությանն ուղղված՝ Մայր Աթոռի և թեմերի կողմից ձեռնարկվելիք քայլերին։

Վեհափառ Հայրապետը ժողովականներին տեղեկացրեց, որ մշտական կապի մեջ է Արցախի թեմի առաջնորդ Տ․ Պարգև արքեպիսկոպոս Մարտիրոսյանի և ՀՀ ԶՈՒ հոգևոր առաջնորդ Տ․ Վրթանես եպիսկոպոս Աբրահամյանի հետ։

Իրազեկվեց, որ Ադրբեջանի սանձազերծած ռազմական գործողությունների առնչությամբ Ամենայն Հայոց Հայրապետի կողմից ուղերձներ են հղվել պետությունների ղեկավարներին, Քույր Եկեղեցիների առաջնորդներին, կրոնապետներին և միջեկեղեցական տարբեր կազմակերպությունների ղեկավարներին։ Արցախի ժողովրդի իրավունքների պաշտպանության գործում ԳՀԽ անդամները կարևորեցին նաև թեմերի աշխատանքը Քույր Եկեղեցիների, միջեկեղեցական ու միջկրոնական կազմակերպությունների հետ։

Առանձին քննարկման նյութ դարձավ գնդերեցների ծառայության և այս օրերին նրանց շարքերը համալրող, թեմերից Արցախ մեկնող եկեղեցականների հարցը։ Այս առնչությամբ տեղեկացվեց, որ Մայր Աթոռի մի քանի միաբաններ և թեմերում սպասավորող եկեղեցականներ իբրև կամավորներ արդեն Արցախում են։

Ժողովի ընթացքում ցուցումներ տրվեցին վիրավոր զինվորների, զոհվածների ընտանիքների նկատմամբ հովվական խնամքի վերաբերյալ, կարևորվեց թեմերի համագործակցությունը ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարության պատկան կառույցների հետ։

Ի զորակցություն Արցախի՝ Գերագույն հոգևոր խորհուրդը որոշեց Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնի միջոցներից «Հայաստան» համահայկական հիմնադրամին փոխանցել կես միլիոն ԱՄՆ դոլար գումար։
