Տեղի է ունեցել ԱՄՆ նորընտիր նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի եւ Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի միջեւ առաջին հեռախոսազրույցը։ Այս մասին հայտնում է Կրեմլի մամուլի ծառայությունը։

Ռուսաստանի նախագահը շնորհավորել է Բայդենին՝ ԱՄՆ նախագահի պաշտոնում իր աշխատանքն սկսելու առթիվ։ Պուտինը հայտարարել է, որ Ռուսաստանի եւ ԱՄՆ-ի միջեւ հարաբերությունների  կարգավորումը կհամապատասխաներ երկու երկրների շահերին` հաշվի առնելով, որ ՌԴ-ն և ԱՄՆ-ն ունեն առանձնահատուկ պատասխանատվություն աշխարհում կայունության եւ անվտանգության ապահովման գործում։

Միջազգային թեմաների թվում արծարծվել են Բաց երկնքի վերաբերյալ պայմանագրից ԱՄՆ-ի միակողմանի դուրս գալը, Իրանի միջուկային ծրագրի վերաբերյալ Գործողությունների համատեղ համապարփակ ծրագրի պահպանման խնդիրը, ներուկրաինական կարգավորումը, ինչպես նաև ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի մշտական անդամների գագաթնաժողով անցկացնելու ռուսական նախաձեռնությունը:
