«Հրապարակ» թերթը գրում է. «Իշխանությունը ստիպված է սրբագրել իր անգրագիտության հետեւանքները։ «Իմ քայլի» պատգամավոր Հերիքնազ Տիգրանյանը փոփոխությունների նախագիծ է ներկայացրել, որով առաջարկում է «Տոների եւ հիշատակի օրերի մասին» օրենքը «խմբագրել»։ 2019 թվականին խորհրդարանը որոշում ընդունեց ապրիլի վերջին շաբաթ օրը նշել որպես Քաղաքացու օր:

Այս տարի այն համընկնում է Ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակի օրվա՝ ապրիլի 24-ի հետ, ինչն իշխանությունից եւ ոչ մեկի մտքով այդ ժամանակ չէր անցել։ Օրենքում ասվում էր միայն՝ մայիսի 1-ը շաբաթ օրվա հետ համընկնելու դեպքում Քաղաքացու օրը նշվում է ապրիլի վերջին կիրակի օրը, այսինքն՝ ապրիլի 25-ին:

Տիգրանյանը հիմա առաջարկում է, որ որեւէ տոնի կամ հիշատակի օրվա հետ համընկնելու դեպքում Քաղաքացու օրը նշվի շաբաթ օրվան հաջորդող կիրակի օրը: Ինչ վերաբերում է տոնական միջոցառումներին, իշխանության մեր աղբյուրների տեղեկացմամբ, մինչ այս պահը որեւէ ծրագիր չի մշակվել, ու հնարավոր է այս տարի այդ օրը չնշեն որպես տոն։

Փոխարենը, ըստ տեղեկությունների, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը պատրաստվում է ապրիլի 24-ի Ցեղասպանության հիշատակի օրն իր քաղաքական թիմով երթով բարձրանալ Ծիծեռնակաբերդի հուշահամալիր, նախապես հայտարարել այդ մասին, որպեսզի ժողովուրդը միանա իրեն, եւ դա եւս ներկայացնել որպես վստահության երթ»:
