Այսօր ոգեկոչում ենք 1915թ. օսմանյան իշխանությունների կողմից հայ ժողովրդի նկատմամբ իրագործված մեծագույն հանցագործության՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի անմար հիշատակը:

Արցախի ՄԻՊ-ից  հայտնում են, որ Հայոց մեծ եղեռնը հանցագործություն էր մարդկության և քաղաքակրթության դեմ, ուստի դրա ճանաչումն ու դատապարտումը չեն կարող դուրս մնալ քաղաքակիրթ մարդկության իրավական օրակարգերից: Ցեղասպանության ճանաչումը ցեղասպանություն վերապրածների, նրանց սերունդների և համայն հայության պատմական հիշողության, ազգային և անձնային ինքնության անբաժանելի մասն է և նրանց իրավունքների իրացման ու պաշտպանության երաշխիքը:

Անցած 106 տարիների ընթացքում Թուրքիան խուսափել է սեփական պատմության հետ առերեսվելուց, խոստովանելու և զղջալու կատարած հանցագործության համար, պատասխանատվություն ստանձնելու 1.5 միլիոն հայերի զանգվածային սպանության և նրանց սեփականությանն ու գույքին ապօրինի տիրանալու համար: Ավելին՝ իր ժխտողական քաղաքականությամբ մշտապես գործել է հայ ժողովրդի իրավունքների և կենսական շահերի դեմ: Սրա ամենավերջին ապացույցը 2020թ.-ի սեպտեմբերին Ադրբեջանի կողմից Արցախի դեմ սանձազերծված ագրեսիայի ընթացքում Թուրքիայի անմիջական քաղաքական և ռազմական աջակցությունն էր Ադրբեջանին և նրա օժանդակությամբ վարձկանների հավաքագրումն ու ներգրավումը ռազմական գործողություններին:

Մարդու, նրա իրավունքների և ազատությունների դեմ ուղղված հանցագործության ճանաչումն ու դատապարտումը չպետք է թաղվեն քաղաքական, տնտեսական կամ այլ նպատակահարմարությունների ներքո, քանզի պատմությունն ապացուցում է, որ դրանց անպատժելիությունը ծնում է նոր հանցագործություններ:

Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչումն ու դրա համար Թուրքիայի պատասխանատվության սահմանումը առաջնահերթություն պետք է լինեն պետությունների և միջազգային կազմակերպությունների համար. հետևողական դատապարտման ճանապարհով է հնարավոր միայն բացառել նման հանցագործությունների կրկնությունը աշխարհում:
