ՀՀ նախագահ Արմեն Սարգսյանը հայտարարություն է տարածել, որում ասված է.

«Հայաստանի Հանրապետության սահմանների և տարածքային ամբողջականության դեմ իրականացվող տևական ոտնձգություններից և ապօրինի գործողություններից հետո այսօր Ադրբեջանը դիմել է սահմանային իրավիճակը լարելու նոր սադրանքի:

ՀՀ Գեղարքունիքի մարզի սահմանային հատվածում ադրբեջանական կողմից կրակոցներ են արձակվել հայկական զինուժի ուղղությամբ: Հայկական կողմից կա զոհ: Խորին ցավակցությունս եմ հայտնում զոհված զինծառայողի ընտանիքին և հարազատներին։

Հորդորում եմ պետական համապատասխան կառույցներին՝ գործադրել բոլոր ջանքերը և ձեռնարկել ամենախիստ միջոցներն ընդդեմ Հայաստանի Հանրապետության տարածքային ամբողջականությանը սպառնացող ոտնձգությունների և սահմանային խախտումների:

Դատապարտելով Ադրբեջանի սադրիչ գործողությունները և իրավիճակը սրելու քայլերը՝ միաժամանակ, կոչ ենք անում միջազգային հանրությանը և բոլոր շահագրգիռ պետություններին՝ լինել առավելագույնս անհանդուրժող և կոշտ միջոցներ ձեռնարկել Ադրբեջանի սադրիչ գործողություններին համապատասխան գնահատական տալու և դատապարտելու ուղղությամբ»:
