«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
Մեկնարկել է աշխարհի ամենամասսայական սպորտային իրադարձություններից մեկը` ֆուտբոլի Եվրոպայի առաջնությունը. այն պետք է անցկացվեր 2020թ-ին, սակայն կորոնավարակի պատճառով հետաձգվեց մեկ տարով: Ինչեւիցե, թե՛ Հայաստանում, թե՛ աշխարհի տարբեր ծայրերում հարյուրմիլիոնավոր մարդիկ գամված են էկրաններին ու դիտում են խաղերը, որոնք անց են կացվում Եվրոպական տարբեր քաղաքներում` Սանկտ Պետերբուրգ, Լոնդոն, Մյունխեն, Հռոմ, Ամստերդամ, Կոպենհագեն եւ Բաքու: Իհարկե, սա առաջին դեպքը չէ, երբ Բաքուն դառնում է սպորտային աշխարհի ուշադրության կենտրոն, սակայն ինչպես ասում էին, այն ժամանակ Հայաստանում գործում էր կարեւորը «մենք հաղթած ենք, մնացածը կարեւոր չէ» սկզբունքը, ու կարծես թե չէր երեւում դա:

«Արարատ 73»-ի լեգենդար ֆուտբոլիստներից մեկը, որը չցանկացավ հնչեցնել իր անունը, մեզ հետ զրույցում ասաց, որ մինչեւ օրս ցավ են ապրում, թե ինչպես նախկին իշխանությունների թեթեւ ձեռքով սեփականաշնորհվեց լեգենդար «Հրազդան» մարզադաշտը, որին այն ժամանակ ճանաչում էին ֆուտբոլային աշխարհում բոլորը, մասնավորեցվեցին Կապանի, Մարտունու ու շատ այլ քաղաքների ստադիոնները, ու ամենավատն այն է, որ դրանց հետ ոչինչ չարեցին: Մի ամբողջ ֆուտբոլային Հայաստան, մի ամբողջ ֆուտբոլային սերունդ լեգենդար «Հրազդան»-ին կարողանում է նայել միայն դրսից ու հետեւել գեղեցկուհու դանդաղ մահվանը: Հենրիխ Մխիթարյան ունեցող երկրում նորակառույց, ժամանակակից չափանիշներին համապատասխանող ստադիոն այդպես էլ չկառուցվեց:

Իհարկե, եթե հիմա հարցնես նախկին ցանկացած պաշտոնյայի, ապա նա բացառիկ հայրենասեր է, ում գործերն ուղղված էին բացառապես երկրի բարգավաճմանը, իրականությունը սակայն այլ է. անկախությունից հետո դեռ վայելում ենք կոմունիստական Հայաստանում մեր պապերի կառուցածը, նորը չենք արել, ոչինչ չենք ավելացրել, միայն մաշեցրել ու քանդել ենք:

Ի դեպ, գերժամանակակից մարզադաշտ ունի նաեւ Վրաստանը Թբիլիսիում եւ Բաթումիում, այստեղ եւս անցկացվել են խոշոր միջազգային հանդիպումներ, օրինակ` 2015թ-ին Վրաստանի մայրաքաղաքի «Դինամո Արենա» ստադիոնում անցկացվեց ՈՒԵՖԱ-ի սուպերգավաթը. միմյանց դեմ մրցում էին «Բարսելոնան» ու «Սեւիլիան», աշխարահռչակ Լեոնել Մեսսիի խաղը տեսնելու համար հարյուր հազարավոր զբոսաշրջիկներ գնացին Վրաստան, համաշխարհային մամուլն էր օրեր շարունակ գրում մեր հարեւանների մասին:

Տարածաշրջանում միայն մենք ենք, որ միայն խոսում ենք՝ տարիներ շարունակ ագրեսիայի չափաբաժինն ավելացնելով: Գործ չի արվել մեր երկրում, մեր երկիրը կարելի էր շենացնել այս տարիների ընթացքում:
