Լիտվայի Հանրապետությունում ՀՀ նորանշանակ դեսպան Արմեն Մարտիրոսյանը հունիսի 21-ին  իր հավատարմագրերն է հանձնել Լիտվայի նախագահ Գիտանաս Նաուսեդային։ Այս մասին հայտնեցին ՀՀ ԱԳՆ լրատվության և հանրային դիվանագիտության վարչությունից: 

Արարողությանը հաջորդած առանձնազրույցի ընթացքում նախագահ Նաուսեդան շնորհավորել է դեսպանին պաշտոնը ստանձնելու կապակցությամբ և հաջողություն մաղթել կարևոր առաքելության ընթացքում: Գիտանաս Նաուսեդան շնորհավորել է նաև հունիսի 20-ին Հայաստանում խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների կայացման կապակցությամբ և հույս հայտնել, որ դրանք կնպաստեն երկրում առկա ներքաղաքական լարվածության թոթափմանը։ Անդրադառնալով հայ-լիտվական հարաբերությունների պատմությանը՝ Լիտվայի նախագահը նշել է, որ քաղաքական երկխոսությունը բարձր մակարդակի վրա է՝ ընգծելով, որ 1991 թվականին Լիտվան առաջինն է ճանաչել Հայաստանի անկախությունը: Անդրադարձ է եղել  նաև Լիտվայի առանցքային դերին ՀՀ-ԵՄ հարաբերությունների զարգացման հարցում:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով Լիտվայի նախագահին ընդունելության համար՝ դեսպան Մարտիրոսյանը նշել է, որ Հայաստանը մեծապես շահագրգռված է Լիտվայի հետ համագործակցության առավել սերտացմամբ փոխադարձ հետաքրքրություն ներկայացնող բոլոր ուղղություններով՝ ընդգծելով, որ աշխատելու պարարտ հող է տեսնում հատկապես տնտեսության ոլորտում:

Հանդիպման ընթացքում քննարկվել է Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության շուրջ նոյեմբերի 10-ի եռակողմ հայտարարությունից հետո ստեղծված իրավիճակը: Դեսպան Մարտիրոսյանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Լիտվային պատերազմի օրերին հայկական կողմին ցուցաբերված աջակցության համար: Հակամարտության տևական և կայուն կարգավորման համատեքստում ընդգծվել է ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահության կարևոր դերը:
