Հայաստանի ծանրամարտի հավաքականի անդամ Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը դարձավ 32-րդ ամառային Օլիմպիական խաղերի արծաթե մեդալակիր:

Ճապոնիայի մայրաքաղաք Տոկիոյում ընթացող Օլիմպիական խաղերի ծանրամարտի 109 կգ քաշային կարգում Մարտիրոսյանը պոկում վարժության առաջին մոտեցմանը բարձրացրեց 190 կգ, այնուհետ`  195, որը Օլիմպիական խաղերի համար ռեկորդային քաշ է և երրորդ մոտեցմանը պատվիրեց198 կգ, սակայն չբարձրացրեց այն:

Հրում վարժությունը Մարտիրոսյանը սկսեց 228 կգ-ից և կարողացավ այն պահել գլխավերևում: Հետո չբարձրացրեց 238 կգ. կշռող ծանրաձողը. վերջին մոտեցման ժամանակ ևս Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը չկարողացավ բարձրացնել նույն քաշը: 

Երկամարտի 423 կգ արդյունքով Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը կրկին երկրորդն է ՕԽ-ում: Ոսկե մեդալը նվաճեց Ուզբեկստանի ներկայացուցիչ Ակբար Ջուրաևը: 

Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը 2016 թվականի Օլիմպիական խաղերի արծաթե մեդալակիր է, աշխարհի և Եվրոպայի առաջնությունների կրկնակի չեմպիոն:

Օգոստոսի 4-ին ազատ ոճային ըմբիշ Արսեն Հարությունյանը 57 կգ քաշային կարգի 1/8 եզրափակիչից սկսում է պայքարը: Գոտեմարտերը մեկնարկում են Երևանի ժամանակով 11:30-ին: Եզրափակիչը կկայանա օգոստոսի 5-ին:

Օգոստոսի 6-ին Հայաստանի օլիմպիական թիմի վերջին մեկնարկը կլինի: 65 կգ քաշային կարգում 1/8 եզրափակիչից սկսած մեդալների համար կպայքարի ըմբիշ Վազգեն Թևանյանը: 

Եզրափակիչը կկայանա օգոստոսի 7-ին:
