ՀՀ Ազգային ժողովի նախագահ Ալեն Սիմոնյանն ընդունեց Հայաստանում Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգների արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան Լին Թրեյսիին: Այս մասին տեղեկացնում է ԱԺ աշխատակազմը:

Ալեն Սիմոնյանը, ողջունելով դեսպանին, նշեց, որ դիվանագիտական հարաբերությունների հաստատումից ի վեր Միացյալ Նահանգների հետ Հայաստանը զարգացրել է գործընկերային եւ բարեկամական հարաբերություններ, որոնք ընդգրկում են համագործակցության լայն շրջանակ: Նա բարձր գնահատեց ժողովրդավարության ամրապնդման, տնտեսական զարգացման, տարբեր ոլորտներում իրականացվող բարեփոխումների գործում ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից տարիներ շարունակ ցուցաբերվող աջակցությունը: Ալեն Սիմոնյանը նշեց, որ հայ-ամերիկյան երկկողմ հարաբերություններում կարեւոր տեղ է զբաղեցնում միջխորհրդարանական համագործակցության ձեւաչափը: Նա դեսպանին տեղեկացրեց, որ Ազգային ժողովում շուտով կվերաձեւավորվի Հայաստան-ԱՄՆ բարեկամական խումբը, որը կարեւոր օղակ է երկրների օրենսդիր մարմինների միջեւ փոխգործակցության, ինչպես նաեւ միջպետական հարաբերությունների զարգացման համար:

Անդրադառնալով հետպատերազմյան իրադրությանը` ԱԺ նախագահը նշեց, որ այս պահին առաջնային է մնում Ադրբեջանում պահվող հայ ռազմագերիների եւ քաղաքացիական անձանց անհապաղ հայրենադարձման հարցը: Նա ընդգծեց, որ Ադրբեջանի կողմից ապակառուցողական հռետորաբանությունը չի կարող հանգեցնել Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտության լուծմանը: Հակամարտությունը պետք է կարգավորվի բացառապես բանակցությունների միջոցով, ԵԱՀԿ Մինսկի խմբի համանախագահության հովանու ներքո եւ այդ միջնորդական առաքելության կողմից մշակված սկզբունքների իրագործման հիման վրա:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ընդունելության համար՝ դեսպանը նշեց, որ ԱՄՆ վարչակազմը շարունակելու է սերտ համագործակցությունը Հայաստանի իշխանությունների հետ: Զրույցի ընթացքում կարեւորվեցին օրենդիր մարմնի հետ փոխգործակցությունը, ժողովրդավարական գործընթացների զարգացումն ու ամրապնդումը: Դեսպանը շեշտեց նաեւ ԱՄՆ վարչակազմի հավատարմությունը ԵԱՀԿ ՄԽ շրջանակում գործունեության իրականացմանը:
