«Ժողովուրդ» օրաթերթը գրում է․ «Կիրակի օրը հանրապետության մի շարք համայնքներում կայացան ՏԻՄ ընտրություններ, որոնց արդյունքում իշխող «Քաղաքացիական պայմանագիր» կուսակցությունը պարտություն կրեց հանրապետության երկրորդ քաղաք Գյումրիում, ինչպես նաեւ Սյունիքի մարզի Գորիս եւ Մեղրի խոշորացված համայնքներում:

ՏԻՄ ընտրությունների քարոզարշավին Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն անձամբ չի մասնակցել՝ հույս ունենալով, որ իր մերձավոր շրջապատը կկարողանա լուծել հաղթանակի հարցերն ավտոնոմ եղանակով, ինչը ոչ միայն չստացվեց, այլ, ինչպես մեզ հետ զրույցում ՔՊ-ական պատգամավորներից մեկը խոստովանեց, միայնակ տապալվեցին: Իրականում մինչեւ հիմա ժողովուրդը Նիկոլ Փաշինյանից այն կողմ ոչ մեկին չի տեսնում ու չի հավատում. բոլորը կախված են իրենից:

Որպես օրինակ՝ բանախոսը բերում է ընդամենը երկու-երեք ամիս առաջ խորհրդարանական ընտրությունների արդյունքները Սյունիքում, որտեղ ՔՊ-ն բացարձակ հաղթանակ տարավ, քանի որ այնտեղ այցելել ու քարոզարշավին մասնակցել էր անձամբ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը: Հատկապես մեծ է դժգոհությունը նախկին փոխվարչապետ Տիգրան Ավինյանի կատարած աշխատանքից, որը համակարգում էր ընտրությունները Սյունիքի մարզում, ու թիմի ներսում ընկալվում է որպես խիստ գոռոզացած, բայց իրականում ոչ կոմպետենտ մարդ:

Հետաքրքիր վիճակ է նաեւ Գյումրիի հետ կապված. մեզ ասացին, որ ՔՊ թեկնածուն, ՔՊ պատգամավորներն ու կուսակցական ակտիվն այնքան թույլ են այդ քաղաքում, նրանց բացարձակ մեծամասնության անցած ճանապարհն այնքան անհասկանալի, անընկալելի է գյումրեցիների համար, որ Սամվել Բալասանյանը, չլինելով Գյումրիում ու անհայտ պատճառներով բացակայելով երկրից, իր ազգանունը կրող դաշինքով հաղթանակ տարավ իշխանությունների նկատմամբ: Իհարկե, շատերը կարծում են, որ քաղաքապետի հարցում նախապես պայմանավորվածություն կար, ու ՔՊ թեկնածուն, այնուամենայնիվ, կընտրվի Գյումրու քաղաքապետ, սակայն փաստացի կունենա Անգլիայի թագուհու կարգավիճակ:

ՔՊ կուսակցության մեր աղբյուրները փոխանցում են, որ, այնուամենայնիվ, այս պարտությունները լավ էին. Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը տեսավ, թե իր մոտ մտնող ու մեծ-մեծ խոսողներն իրականում ինչի են ընդունակ` չբացառելով, որ վարչապետն իրականում թողեց այս պրոցեսներն ընթանան, որպեսի մեկ անգամ ևս սանձի ու տեղը դնի իր թիմակիցներին, որոնք սկսել են իրենց պահել լուրջ դեմքերի նման` չունենալով նման դեմք, այսինքն՝ համապատասխան կրթություն, փորձ ու գիտելիք»:
