Վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանն ընդունել է Սուրբ Աթոռի պետքարտուղարի ընդհանուր հարցերով փոխանորդ արքեպիսկոպոս (փոխպետքարտուղար) Էդգար Պենյա Պառային և նրա գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը: Հանդիպմանը ներկա էին Վատիկանում ՀՀ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Կարեն Նազարյանը և Սուրբ Աթոռի առաքելական նվիրակ արքեպիսկոպոս Ժոզե Ավելինու Բետանկուրը:

Վարչապետ Փաշինյանը ողջույնի խոսքում նշել է.

«Ձերդ Գերազանցություն, պատվիրակության հարգելի անդամներ,

Ողջունում եմ Ձեզ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունում: Կցանկանայի վերահաստատել Սուրբ Աթոռի հետ միջպետական հարաբերությունները զարգացնելու մեր պատրաստակամությունը և վճռականությունը և ուրախ եմ, որ Երևանում երեկ պաշտոնապես բացվել է Սուրբ Աթոռի առաքելական նվիրակությունը: Դա շատ կարևոր խթան կհանդիսանա մեր հարաբերությունների համար:

Մեր հարաբերություններն ունեն խորը պատմական հենք և նաև հիմնված են ընդհանուր քրիստոնեական արժեքների վրա, որը շատ կարևոր հանգամանք է: Այս առումով ուզում եմ շնորհակալություն հայտնել այն կարևոր դիրքորոշումների համար, որ Սուրբ Աթոռն արտահայտել է 44-օրյա պատերազմի ընթացքում: Նաև շատ կարևորում եմ մեր համագործակցությունը Ադրբեջանի հսկողության տակ գտնվող տարածքներում հայկական մշակութային և քրիստոնեական մշակութային ժառանգության պահպանման հարցերում:

Երախտապարտ ենք Սրբազան Քահանայապետի՝ մեր երկկողմ հարաբերությունները խորացնելու հանձնառության համար: Ես հիշում եմ՝ իհարկե, ծանր շրջանում, մեր հեռախոսազրույցը Սրբազան Քահանայապետի հետ և խնդրում եմ իմ ողջույնները փոխանցել Սրբազան Քահանայապետին և պետքարտուղար կարդինալ Պարոլինին: Կրկին ողջունում եմ Ձեզ, ուրախ եմ մեր հանդիպման և մեր հարաբերությունների օրակարգային հարցերը քննարկելու այս առիթի համար»:

Սուրբ Աթոռի փոխպետքարտուղարն իր հերթին ասել է.

«Շնորհակալություն, մեծարգո պարոն վարչապետ: Այսօր իմ այցի երկրորդ և արդեն վերջին օրն է: Ես Երևանում էի Սուրբ Աթոռի դեսպանության՝ առաքելական նվիրակության բացման առիթով և հնարավորությունն օգտագործելով՝ Հայաստանի իշխանությունների հետ հանդիպելու նպատակով: Շատ շնորհակալ եմ ինձ և մեր պատվիրակությանն ընդունելու համար:

Կցանկանայի շնորհակալություն հայտնել Ձեզ այս հանդիպման համար և ընդգծել, որ Սուրբ Աթոռի առաքելական նվիրակության բացումը կշարունակի ուժեղացնել մեր երկկողմ հարաբերությունները՝ հատկապես այն ուղղություններով, որոնք արդեն քննարկել ենք Արտաքին գործերի նախարարությունում և մյուս գերատեսչություններում, որոնք կարևոր են մեր հարաբերությունների համար:

Սրբազան Քահանայապետը և կարդինալ Պարոլինն իրենց ողջույններն ու լավագույն բարեմաղթություններն են հղում անձամբ Ձեզ և Հայաստանի Հանրապետությանը: Մենք կշարունակենք համագործակցել մեր ընդհանուր օրակարգի շուրջ՝ ուշադրության կենտրոնում պահելով մի շարք կարևոր հարցեր, այդ թվում՝ ձեր ռազմագերիների հարցը»:

Վարչապետը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Հռոմի Պապի՝ Ադրբեջանի կողմից պահվող հայ ռազմագերիների անհապաղ ազատ արձակմանն ուղղված կոչերի և այս ուղղությամբ քայլերը շարունակելու պատրաստակամության համար՝ ընդգծելով, որ միջազգային աջակցությունը կարևոր է հարցի լուծման համար:

Զրուցակիցները մտքեր են փոխանակել Հայաստանի և Վատիկանի միջև հարաբերությունների և տարածաշրջանային խնդիրների շուրջ: Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը նշել է, որ ՀՀ կառավարությունը հանձնառու է տարածաշրջանում խաղաղ դարաշրջան բացելու օրակարգին, բայց կարևոր է շահագրգիռ բոլոր կողմերի հանձնառությունն այդ գործընթացին: Երկուստեք կարևորվել է Հայաստանի և Սուրբ Աթոռի ներդրումն աշխարհում խաղաղության պահպանման գործում:

Էդգար Պենյա Պառան հավաստիացրել է, որ Սուրբ Աթոռը կշարունակի ջանքերը՝ Ադրբեջանի վերահսկողության տակ անցած տարածքներում հայկական հոգևոր-մշակութային ժառանգության պահպանության և հայ ռազմագերիների վերադարձման հարցի հանգուցալուծման ուղղությամբ։

Վարչապետը կարևորել է Հռոմի կաթոլիկ, Հայաստանյայց առաքելական և Հայ կաթողիկե եկեղեցիների եղբայրական կապը, որն ամուր հիմք է Հայաստան-Վատիկան հարաբերությունների համար: Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը համոզմունք է հայտնել, որ այս դինամիկան կպահպանվի և Հայաստանում Վատիկանի դիվանագիտական ներկայացուցչության բացման արդյունքում առավել կզարգանա:
