«Իրավունք» թերթը գրում է. «Մինչ մամուլը գրում է, թե ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախկին նախարար Վաղարշակ Հարությունյանն առաջիկա օրերին կնշանակվի Ռուսաստանի Դաշնությունում ՀՀ արտակարգ եւ լիազոր դեսպան, ավելին` նրա ագրեմանը հաստատվել է, պարզվում է` իրականությունը μոլորովին այլ է:

«Իրավունքի» ունեցած տեղեկությունների համաձայն` Վաղարշակ Վառնազիչի նշանակման հարցը ձգձգվում է, իսկ ագրեմանը չկա ու չկա: Իշխանությունը մտավախություն ունի, որ նրա ագրեմանն այդպես էլ չեն հաստատի ՌԴ-ում: Ուստի` արդեն իսկ այլընտրանքային թեկնածու են գտել` որպես «բոյեվոյ զապաս»:

Այսպիսով` ՌԴ-ում Վաղարշակ Հարությունյանի փոխարեն` հայաստանյան իշխանությունը մտադիր է ներկայացնել ՀՀ վարչապետի խորհրդական դարձած Իրանում ՀՀ նախկին դեսպան Արտաշես Թումանյանի թեկնածությունը: Իհարկե, դժվար է ասել, որ նա լավագույն տարբերակն է, սակայն վերին օղակներում համապատասխան կադր չեն գտնում, որին դեմ չի լինի Ռուսաստանը:

Այդուհանդերձ, հետաքրքիր է` Թումանյան Արտաշեսի թեկնածությունն առաջադրելու դեպքում` արդյոք հայաստանյան իշխանությունն այնքան անկեղծ կլինի ռուսական կողմի հետ, որ կպատմի, թե ինչպես եղավ, որ «Լինսի» հիմնադրամի կառավարման խորհրդի նախագահի պաշտոնից Թումանյանի ազատվելուց հետո` հայտնաբերվեցին մի շարք խախտումներ, որոնք վերագրվում էին հենց նրան:

Ավելին` ըստ մամուլի հրապարակումների, հրաժարականից հետո Արտաշես Թումանյանին իրենց մոտ էին հրավիրել ՀՀ ոստիկանության Կազմակերպված հանցավորության դեմ պայքարի գլխավոր վարչությունից, ինչպես նաեւ ԱԱԾ աշխատակիցները: Եվ ընդհանրապես, ինչո՞ւ են հենց Արտաշես Թումանյանին տեսնում, որպես այլընտրանքային թեկնածու, երբ նրա անունը ժամանակին շոշափվել է զանազան տնտեսական չարաշահումների վերաբերյալ սկանդալներում` տարբեր ձեռնարկությունների եւ ընկերությունների մասով»:
