Վերջին ՏԻՄ ընտրությունների ընթացքում Շիրակում, ի թիվս այլ ՔՊ-ականների, իշխանական թիմի կուռացիան իրականացնում էր այն ժամանակ դեռևս ԱԻՆ փոխնախարար, Շիրակի նախկին մարզպետ Կարեն Սարուխանյանը: ՏԻՄ ընտրությունների արդյունքները Շիրակի մարզում ՔՊ-ի համար, մեղմ ասած, ոգևորիչ չէին: Փոխվեց մարզպետը, և Հովհաննես Հովհաննիսյանին ժերտվա տված Փաշինյանը նրա փոխարեն նշանակեց Նազելի Բաղդասարյանին, իսկ Կարեն Սարուխանյանին օրերս Փաշինյանը հեռացրեց փոխնախարարի պաշտոնից` չներելով, որ վերջինս, լինելով ծնունդով Ամասիայից, չի կարողացել այնտեղ ապահովել ՔՊ-ի հաղթանակը:

Սարուխանյանը, սակայն, ինչպես երևում է, որոշել էր ռեաբիլիտացվել Փաշինյանի աչքերում և իր` այդ առումով վերջին փորձն է կատարել Ախուրյանում: Այնտեղ այսօր ընտրում էին համայնքի ղեկավարին: Կարեն Սարուխանյանը ՔՊ-ական պատգամավոր Էմմա Պալյանի հետ Ախուրյանում էին և նիստի ընդմիջման ժամանակ ոգևորում էին թիմակիցներին: Սակայն, հասկանալի է, որ միայն ոգևորելու համար այդքան ճանապարհ Սարուխոնյանը դժվար թե կտրեր-անցներ: Ըստ էության, նա փորձել է օժանդակել Ախուրյանում ՔՊ-ական թեկնածուի ընտրությանը, սակայն այդքան բաղձալի 1 քվեն պոկել այդպես էլ չի ստացվել: Արդյունքում՝ ռեաբիլիտացվելու փոխարեն Սարուխանյանը հերթական կիքսն է գրանցել, ինչից առաջինը և թերևս ամենաշատը պետք է ուրախանա նրա թիմակից Նազելի Բաղդասարյանը: Այս երկու ՔՊ-ականների ջրերը նույն առվով երբեք էլ չեն հոսել, քանի որ նրանց միջև մշտապես պայքար է գնացել մարզում ասողի դերը ստանձնելու համար: 

Սարուխանյանի այս վերջին ֆիասկոն կարող է թանկ արժենալ նախկին մարզպետի, պատգամավորի և փոխնախարարի վրա: Նախկին պաշտոնյան բազմիցս է հայտնվել տարատեսակ սկանդալային պատմությունների կիզակետում և չի բացառվում, որ Ախուրյանը «ձեռքից տալուց» հետո այդ բոլոր դեպքերը մանրամասն ուսումնասիրվեն և ջրի երես հանվեն: Արդեն իսկ մամուլը գրել է, որ օրեր առաջ Շիրակի մարզից վերադառնալիս Կարեն Սարուխանյանին անգամ բերման էին ենթարկել, ուղեկցել ԱԱԾ, սակայն ժամեր անց բաց թողել:  Մամուլը նաև գրել էր, որ հենց Սարուխանյանն է «փափուկ բարձ դրել» իշխանությունների գլխի տակ, որ  «Բալասանյան դաշինք»-ը շանս չունի հաղթելու, միայն մասնակցելու է եւ հարկ եղած դեպքում աջակցելու է ՔՊ-ին: Եւ այս երկակի խաղերն ի վերջո բացահայտվել են, ու նա հայտնվել է ԱԱԾ տեսադաշտում:
