Մեծ Բրիտանիայում 88-ամյա կինը վերականգնել է տեսողությունը՝ աչքի իմպլանտի միջոցով։ Այս մասին հայտնում է The Guardian-ը։

Լոնդոնի Դագենհամ արվարձանի բնակիչներից մեկն առաջին պացիենտն է երկրում, որին աչքի չիպ են տեղադրել։ Աշխարհագրական ատրոֆիայով տառապող թոշակառուն կորցրել է ձախ աչքի տեսողությունը։ Prima System սարքի օգնությամբ նրան օգնել են նորից տեսնել։

Բրիտանացի և ֆրանսիացի ինժեներների համատեղ հայտնագործած սարքը բաղկացած է չիպից և հատուկ ակնոցից։ Անմիջապես հիվանդի ցանցաթաղանթի տակ դրվում է երկու միլիմետր չափման իմպլանտ, գլխին դրվում է ակնոց։ Չիպը տեսախցիկի օգնությամբ նկարահանում է պատկերը, այն փոխանցում է համակարգչին, որը պատկերը ցանցաթաղանթի բջիջների միջոցով վերադարձնում է ուղեղ։ Ուղեղը մեկնաբանում է ազդանշանը այնպես, ինչպես աշխատում է բնական տեսողությունը:

«Այս բեկումնային սարքը հաջող արդյունքի հույս է ներշնչում տեսողության կորստով տառապող մարդկանց», - ասել է վիրահատությունը կատարած վիրաբույժ Մահի Մուքիթը: Բժշկի խոսքով՝ այս վիրահատության հաջողությունը և հետազոտության ընթացքում հավաքագրված տվյալները թույլ են տալիս շատերին վերականգնել իրենց տեսողությունը։
