Ապրիլի 25-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունել է Սիրիայի Արաբական Հանրապետության խորհրդարանի Սիրիա-Հայաստան բարեկամական խմբի ղեկավար Լյուսի Իսկանյանի գլխավորած պատվիրակությանը։

Նորին Սրբությունը, ողջունելով հյուրերին, ընդգծել է, որ վերջիններիս այցը Հայաստան Հայոց ցեղասպանության ոգեկոչման շրջանականներում լավագույնս վկայում է երկու ժողովուրդների բարեկամական և ջերմ հարաբերությունների մասին, որոնք ունեն դարվոր պատմություն։

Հանդիպմանը Հայոց Հովվապետը գոհունակությամբ արձանագրել է, որ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը վերապրած հայ ժողովրդի զավակները կարողացել են ապաստան գտնել Սիրիայում և կազմակերպել իրենց ազգային-հոգևոր կյանքը՝ օգտակար ներդրում բերելով երկրի հասարակական կյանքի տարբեր ոլորտների առաջընթացին: Այս առիթով Վեհափառ Հայրապետը, վերհիշելով իր այցերը Սիրիայի Արաբական Հանրապետություն, ինչպես նաև հանդիպումները Սիրիայի նախագահի հետ Սիրիայում և Սուրբ Էջմիածնում, ուրախությամբ հաստատել է հայ համայնքի նկատմամբ Սիրիայի իշխանությունների կողմից ցուցաբերվող հոգատար վերաբերմունքը։ Նորին Սրբությունն իր երախտագիտությունն ու գնահատանքն է հայտնել Սիրիայի խորհրդարանին Հայոց Ցեղասպանությունը ճանաչելու և դատապարտելու համար։

Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը կարևոր նկատել է նաև հայ-սիրիական կապերի և փոխգործակցության սերտացման ու զորացման գործում Հայ Եկեղեցու համայնքների դերակատարությունը։

Իր հերթին տիկին Լյուսի Իսկանյանը, Նորին Սրբությանը ներկայացնելով պատվիրակության անդամներին, հաստատել է, որ Սիրիայի իշխանությունները շարունակում են իրենց աջակցությունը բերել սիրիահայությանը՝ խրախուսելով վերջինիս ներգրավվածությունը երկրի քաղաքական, տնտեսական և մշակութային գործընթացներին։

Զրույցի ընթացքում անդրադարձ է կատարվել նաև Ադրբեջանի վերահսկողության տակ հայտնված տարածքներում հայկական հոգևոր-մշակութային ժառանգության պահպանության խնդիրների, սրբավայրերի ու խաչքարերի պղծման և ոչնչացման դեպքերին։ Խոսելով Հայաստանի և Արցախի ժողովրդի խաղաղ ու անկախ ապրելու իրավունքի դեմ Ադրբեջանի կողմից շարունակվող ոտնձգությունների և հետպատերազմյան մարտահրավերների մասին՝ Նորին Սրբությունը վստահեցրել է, որ հայ ժողովուրդն իր մեջ ուժ կգտնի հաղթահարելու առկա դժվարությունները։
