Շաբաթներ առաջ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի որոշմամբ Շուշանիկ Ներսիսյանն ազատվեց ՊԵԿ նախագահի տեղակալի պաշտոնից։ Այդ պաշտոնում նա համակարգում էր մաքսային ոլորտը։ Պատճառը, ըստ տարածված տեղեկությունների, նրա և ՊԵԿ նախագահ Ռուստամ Բադասյանի միջև եղած կոնֆլիկտն է եղել: Մինչ օրս, սակայն, ՊԵԿ նախագահի տեղակալի պաշտոնը թափուր է և մամուլում պարբերաբար անունն են հնչում, թե ովքեր են հավակնում զբաղեցնել Նակոլկա Շուշոյի տեղը:

Շրջանառվող թեկնածուներից մեկը Տավուշի մարզպետ Հայկ Ղալումյանն է, ով նաև Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի քավորն է: Կարելի է ենթադրել, որ այս պաշտոնում նրա նշանակումը ձեռնտու է հենց Փաշինյանին, ամիսներ անց նա կկարողանա Ղալումյանին դարձնել ՊԵԿ նախագահ և էլ ավելի մեծ վերահսկողություն ունենալ այս կառույցի նկատմամբ: Սակայն, այստեղ էլ կադրային խնդիր է ի հայտ գալու, Փաշինյանին անհրաժեշտ կլինի Տավուշի նոր մարզպետ գտնել, իսկ դա ՔՊ կադրային սուղ բանկի պարագայում բարդ լուծվող խնդիր է:

Հաջորդ թեկնածուն Երևանի Նոր Նորք վարչական շրջանի արդեն նախկին ղեկավար Սուրեն Ղամբարյանն է:  Նրա կենսագրության ամենամեծ թռիչքը սոցիալական ծառայության  պետի պաշտոնն էր, որին նա ընդամենը մի քանի ամիս դիմացավ՝ 2019 թվականի մարտից մինչև սեպտեմբեր: Այդ կառույցում նրա պաշտոնավարման վերջին ամիսներին մամուլը պարբերաբար անդրադառնում էր, որ լարված են  Ղամբարյանի, նրա տեղակալ Արսեն Օհանյանի, ինչպես նաեւ ծառայության գլխավոր քարտուղար Վանիկ Բաբաջանյանի հարաբերությունները։ Մամուլը նաև գրել էր, որ Ղամբարյանը սերտ կապերի մեջ է ԱԺ պատգամավոր Հայկ Սարգսյանի հետ, որը լոկոմոտիվի դեր է խաղում Ղամբարյանի կարիերայում:  Ղամբարյանը զբաղեցրել է նաև վարչապետի խորհրդականի պաշտոնը, որից ազատվելուց հետո էլ նշանակվել է վարչական շրջանի ղեկավար:

Նաև մեկ անհայտ դեմքի անուն է շրջանառվում՝ առողջապահության նախարարի նախկին տեղակալ Շավարշ Գրիգորյանի, որը 2021 թ․ հոկտեմբերին նշանակվել էր ՊԵԿ նախագահ Ռուստամ Բադասյանի խորհրդականի պաշտոնում։ Նրան էլ, հավանաբար, Բադասյանն է ուզում առաջ բրթել։
