Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Օլաֆ Շոլցը չի պաշտպանում ռուսներին շենգենյան վիզաների տրամադրման հնարավոր արգելքը՝ նշելով, որ Ուկրաինայում տեղի ունեցող իրադարձությունները «ռուս ժողովրդի պատերազմը» չեն։ Այս մասին նա հայտարարել է երկուշաբթի օրը Օսլոյում Սկանդինավյան խորհրդի նիստի շրջանակներում համատեղ մամուլի ասուլիսում։ «Ես կարծում եմ, որ սա ռուս ժողովրդի պատերազմը չէ, սա [Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր] Պուտինի պատերազմն է, և մենք պետք է շատ հստակ լինենք այս հարցում»,- ասել է Շոլցը։ Այսպիսով, Գերմանիայի կառավարության ղեկավարն անուղղակիորեն հաստատել է, որ Բեռլինը դեմ է բոլոր ռուսաստանցիների համար վիզային սահմանափակումներին։
