ԱՄՆ Ներկայացուցիչների պալատի խոսնակ Նենսի Փելոսին Երևանում ընդգծեց Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը աշխարհի կողմից ճանաչելու անհրաժեշտությունը: «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ Փելոսին այս մասին հայտարարեց Երևանում, «Գաֆէսճեան» արվեստի կենտրոնում ունեցած ելույթում:

Նա շեշտեց Հայաստան այցի շրջանակում իր և կոնգրեսականների այցը Ծիծեռնակաբերդ՝ Հայոց ցեղասպանության զոհերի հիշատակին հարգանքի իրենց տուրքը մատուցելու համար:

«Շատ հուզիչ էր: Մենք իմացանք սոսկալի ճշմարտությունը, որը թանգարանում մեզ ներկայացրեցին»,- ընդգծեց Փելոսին:

Նա հավելեց. «Բաց վերքերն ամոքելու համար աշխարհը պետք է  ճանաչի այն ոճրագործությունը, որը ոչ այլ ինչ էր, քան ցեղասպանություն: Ցեղասպանության ուղղությամբ մեր ջանքերը պետք է շարունակվեն, որպեսզի նման ոճրագործություններ երբևէ չլինեն: Մենք երբեք չենք կարող այն մոռանալ»:

Նա հիշեցրեց, որ կոնգրեսական Ադամ Շիֆը 2019-ին ներկայացրել է բանաձև, որը ոչ միայն դատապարտում էր Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, այլ նաև պատմությունը ջնջելու ջանքերի դեմ էր:

«Մենք մերժում էինք բոլոր այն քայլերը, որոնցով ԱՄՆ կառավարությունը կարող էր ցեղասպանության մերժման հարցի հետ առնչություն ունենալ»,- նշեց Փելոսին:
