Իշխանության եւ եկեղեցու միջեւ պառակտման մասին խոսելը ճիշտ չէ, որովհետեւ իշխանությունն ու եկեղեցին տարբեր, իրարից անջատ մարմիններ են: Այս մասին, այսօր՝ նոյեմբերի 11-ին, Հանրային հեռուստատեսությանը տված հարցազրույցում նշեց ՀՀ վարչապետ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը՝ անդրադառնալով նրան, որ համաշխաևրհային հայկական համաժողովին հրաժարվեցին մասնակցել երկու կաթողիկոսները:

«Եթե այդ խոսույթն ընկալել է, ապա պետության եւ եկեղեցու հարաբերությունների սխալ ընկալումների վրա ենք մենք հիմնված:  Ես պրոցեսը կձեւակերպեմ այսպես. Կարծում եմ՝ տեղի է ունենում շատ կարեւոր մի բան, ձեւավորվում են պետության եւ եկեղեցու նոր հարաբերություններ: Իմ կարծիքով, ձեւավորվում են Հայաստան-Սփյուռք նոր հարաբերություններ: Այդ ձեւավորումը տեղի է ունենում հաջող, որովհետեւ միանշանակ է, որ համաշխարհային հայկական  առաջին գագաթնաժողովը անցել է շատ հաջող: Ես հենց մասնակիցներից ստացել եմ առաջարկներ, որ այդ գագքաթնաժողովը դառնա ամենամյա: Ես արդեն Սփյուռքի հանձնակատարին այդ հանձնարարականը տվել եմ: Այն ալգորիթնեները, որոնք դրվել են գագաթնաժողովի կազմակերպման հիմքում, մեզ հնարավորություն է տալիս շփվել իրական Սփյուռքի հետ,  Սփյուռքի բացարձակ մեծամասնության հետ, Սփյուռքի 95 տոկոսի հետ, որոնք գուցե թե, տարբեր պատճառներով նկատելի ու տեսանելի չեն եղել, ինչքան էլ դա տարօրինակ հնչի: «Մենք հիմա ուրիշ բանաձեւով ենք աշխատում Սփյուռքի հետ եւ կարծում եմ՝ այդ բանաձեւը ճիշտ է: Առաջին գագաթնաժողովը տվեց իր արդյունքը»,-ասաց Փաշինյանը:

Կրկին անդրադառնալով եկեղեցու հետ հարաբերություններին, վարչապետն ասաց. «Այս ամենի արդյունքում, կարող է, ի վերջո, հնարավորություն ստեղծվել, որ եկեղեցին զբաղվի իր բուն գործառույթներով եւ ավելի համապարփակ անդրադառնա հոգեւոր օրակարգին»:

Հարցին՝ մտահոգիչ չէ՞ր, որ կաթողիկոսները չմասնակցեցին այդ գագաթնաժողովին, նա պատասխանեց. «Հայաստանը ժողովրդավարական երկիր է, ընտրության ազատությունը հռչակել ենք կարեւորագույն արժեք, յուրաքանչյուր կառույց ինքն է որոշում՝ մասնակցել, թե ոչ: Մենք ցանկացել ենք, որ մասնակցի, մենք աշխատել ենք, որ մասնակցի, բայց որոշումը կայացնում են իրենք»:
