Գիտնականները պարզել են, որ կանոնավոր վարժությունները նվազեցնում են ինսուլինի արտադրությունը, ինչը կարող է կապված լինել կյանքի տևողության աճի հետ: Հետազոտությունը հրապարակված է Current Biology ամսագրում։

Ինսուլինը մարդու ենթաստամոքսային գեղձի կողմից արտադրվող հորմոն է, որը կարգավորում է արյան մեջ շաքարի մակարդակը: Մեխանիզմները, որոնցով այն կատարում է այս խնդիրը, լավ հասկանալի են, սակայն ինսուլինի արտազատման կարգավորումը հիմնականում առեղծված է մնում: Գիտնականները ենթադրում են, որ ինսուլին արտադրող բջիջների ակտիվությունը կարող է նպաստել մկաններում էներգիայի պաշարների համալրմանը:

Գիտնականները նշել են, որ ինսուլինի արտադրության նվազումը նախկինում կապված է եղել մարդկանց ավելի առողջ և դանդաղ ծերացման հետ։ «Այս արդյունքները կարող են նշանակել, որ ֆիզիկական ակտիվությունը նպաստում է երկարակեցությանը՝ զսպելով ինսուլինի արտազատումը։ Արդեն տրվել են բազմաթիվ հիմնարար հարցերի պատասխաններ, որոնք կարող են նաև նպաստել մարդկանց նյութափոխանակության արատների և հարակից հիվանդությունների, այդ թվում՝ շաքարախտի և գիրության ավելի լավ ընկալմանը», - ասվում է  դոկտոր Յան Աչենի հետազոտության մեջ:
