«Խորը ցավով տեղեկացա անվանի բանաստեղծ, բանասիրական գիտությունների դոկտոր, պրոֆեսոր, Արցախի Հանրապետության գրողների միության նախագահ, Արցախի Հանրապետության պետական օրհներգի տեքստի հեղինակ, Արցախի նվիրյալ զավակ Վարդան Սարգսի Հակոբյանի մահվան մասին:

Վարդան Հակոբյանի մահը մեծ կորուստ է մեր ժողովրդի համար: Նա կանգնած է եղել Արցախյան ազգային-ազատագրական շարժման ակունքներում, Շարժման ղեկավար մարմնի՝ «Կռունկ» կոմիտեի նախագահի տեղակալն էր, Արցախը մայր Հայաստանին միացնելու մասին նամակի նախաձեռնողներից ու պատրաստողներից, Շարժման առաջամարտիկներից մեկը։ Նա անմնացորդ նվիրվել էր համազգային իղձերի ու նպատակների իրականացման վեհ գործին:

Հայրենիքին մատուցած ծառայությունների և  հայ գրականության մեջ ունեցած անուրանալի ավանդի համար Վարդան Հակոբյանն արժանացել է պետական բարձր պարգևների:

Արցախի ժողովրդի, իշխանությունների և անձամբ իմ անունից խորին ցավակցություն ու զորակցություն եմ հայտնում հանգուցյալի հարազատներին ու մերձավորներին, նրա բեղմնավոր գրչի բազմահազար երկրպագուներին ու ընկերներին, մաղթում եմ բոլորին տոկունություն ու ոգու կորով։

Վարդան Հակոբյանի հիշատակը միշտ վառ կմնա մեր սրտերում»,- ասված է ցավակցական խոսքում:

Նախագահ Արայիկ Հարությունյանի հանձնարարությամբ՝ Վարդան Հակոբյանի հուղարկավորության համակարգման նպատակով ստեղծվել է կառավարական հանձնաժողով՝ Նախագահի աշխատակազմի ղեկավար Կարեն Շահրամանյանի գլխավորությամբ:
