«25 տարի առանց Վազգենի...
Շատերը հաճախ մտածում են «իսկ ի՞նչ կլիներ եթե...»
 
Ես էլ եմ մտածում ՝ « Ի՞նչ կլիներ, եթե Վազգենը ողջ լիներ », «Ի՞նչ լիցքեր կտար նա մեզանից յուրքանչյուրին մեզ նետված մարտահրավերները պատվով ընդունելու ու հաղթահարելու համար »....իսկ գուցե եթե նա լիներ, այդ մարտահրավերներն ավելի քիչ ու անցանելի կլինեին... չգիտեմ...
 
Վազգեն Սարգսյան անհատը, որ իր մեջ կրում էր իր բոլոր փառավոր նախնիների հոգևոր նյարդերը, որ «ոգու փորձություն» էր անցել ու «Հացի փորձություն», որ գիտեր «պատմության սկիզբն ու շարունակությունը», գիտեր «ցավի առուծախն» ու «մեռոնին թույն խառնողներին», գիտեր նաև, որ պատմությունը սկսվում է ոտնահետքերով և ինքն իր ոտնահետքերն էր թողնում՝ ինքնամոռաց նվիրումի, վճռական մենակի, սպարապետի, զորավարի, քաղաքական-պետական գործչի, երկրի տեր վարչապետի ամուր ու անջնջելի ոտնահետքերը...
 
Ինչ - որ մի առեղծված կա... հիշողությունների, ոգու, էության առեղծված, որ հավերժություն է թվում: Վազգենն ինքնին ՄԱՐԴ-ԱՌԵՂԾՎԱԾ ԷՐ/ Է, ով երկիրը պահում էր իր խառնվածքով, պատասխանատվությամբ, սիրով ու միևնույն ժամանակ՝ էնպիսի մեծ լավատեսությամբ, որ միայն իրեն է բնորոշ:
 
Ու պարտադիր չէր իրեն անձամբ ճանաչելը... բավական էր գոնե մի անգամ տեսնել Վազգենին ու երկու բառ փոխանակել հետը ու էլ երբեք առաջվանը չէիր լինի... Կդառնայիր լրիվ ուրիշ մարդ, ով կլցվեր անսահման պատասխանատվությամբ ու սիրով հայրենիքի նկատմամբ ու միևնույն ժամանակ՝ լավատեսությամբ... Վազգենի լավատեսությամբ...
 
Վազգենը այսօր չկա ֆիզիկապես, բայց նա ՀԱՎԵՐԺ ՍՊԱՐԱՊԵՏ Է ... Սպարապետ է ոչ միայն ողջերի, այլև՝ հերոս նահատակների համար ու հիմա էլ իր հզորությամբ հսկում է Եռաբլուրը՝ տեր կանգնելով իր բոլոր զինվորներին...
 
«Բա գաս, խավար, վտանգներով լեցուն միջնադարով գաս հասնես 20-րդ լուսավոր դարի շեմին ու կոտորվե՞ս... Բա հիմա գաս, գաս հասնես երրորդ հազարամյակի շեմին ու քո 2000 տարվա փորձից մի դաս չքաղե՞ս...» Մաթևոսյանն էր ասում....
ու մենք էդպես էլ էդ դասերը չսովորեցինք...
