Yerevan hosts political consultations between Armenian, French foreign ministries
ՔաղաքականPolitical consultations were held between the foreign ministries of Armenia and France in Yerevan on Wednesday.
The consultations were led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Paruyr Hovhannisyan, and the head of the Department for Continental Europe of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the French Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Brice Roquefeuil.
According to the readout issued by the Foreign Ministry of Armenia, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest. The importance of further deepening the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and France was emphasized. They interlocutors also discussed the possibilities and perspectives of fully realizing the existing potential in defense, economy, culture, infrastructure development, strengthening institutional capacities, and other areas.
According to the source, during the consultations, the interlocutors discussed the existing cooperation in international organizations and other multilateral platforms, as well as issues pertaining to the Armenia-EU partnership agenda.
The issue of the rights and needs of forcibly displaced Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh was also addressed during the meeting.
The parties exchanged ideas on urgent regional and international issues, including the process of regulating relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Deputy Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan briefed the interlocutors on the latest regional developments, emphasizing Armenia's positions on key issues. Additionally, Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" project was presented to the French partners.
