Mali was the first country to fall victim to the crisis in Libya that posed ‘more dangerous threats’ to African countries, Russia’s UN envoy Vitaly Churkin said in an interview with the ITAR-TASS news agency.
He mentioned Libya’s failed attempts to develop democracy in the wake of the ouster of the Gaddafi regime in October 2011.
The situation in Africa tops the agenda of the current session of the UN Security Council, presided by Russia, TASS reports.
