Israel reopens airspace in north for civil aviation flights
Middle East
Neither confirming nor denying involvement in Sunday's raid on a military facility near Damascus, Israel is demonstrating confidence that the Syrian regime, weakened by clashes with the armed opposition, will not enter direct confrontation with an external enemy.
The Israeli military on Monday authorized resumption of civil aviation flights over the north of the country.
Airspace had been closed here earlier on Sunday, due to an attack on a depot of Iranian missiles meant for the Lebanese Hezbollah movement, on the eve of the aggravation of tensions over attacks on Syria.
