Golan Heights to turn into front to resist Israeli aggression, says al-AssadMiddle East
The Golan Heights will soon turn into a front to resist Israeli aggression, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in Damascus on Tuesday. Al-Assad feels that Israel’s recent aggression against Syria has shown the degree of involvement of the Jewish State, as well as some other regional nations and the West in the developments in Syria.
The official spokesman for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command, Anwar Raja, told reporters on Tuesday that the Syrian authorities have allowed Palestinian groups in Syria to launch military operations against Israel on the Golan Heights, so the groups in question will start planning such operations shortly. The decision has been prompted by Israel’s recent airstrike on a research centre and military supply depots in a Damascus suburb.
